8 Months!

I feel like I just barely posted his 7 month post, summer just goes by so dang fast. We've had a busy month with going to Delta and Blanding, having visitors stay with us, and Brew's surgery. Cheyna had her baby Aiker last time we were down and now I feel like Brew is a straight up toddler after seeing them together! This month Brew:

Is eating solids soo much better. He'll down a jar of squash in about 2 minutes.
Has started giving high fives and saying mama.
Loves all "real" things more than his toys, like glasses, cups and shoelaces.
Still wearing size 3 diapers.
Wearing 12-18 month clothes.
Has both his bottom teeth and getting one of his top one now.
Still napping like a champ (2 long naps a day) but sleeping like crap at night.
Got tubes in his ears.
Loves swimming. I'll sit him on the edge and count to 3, and at 3 he lunges forward to me, it's the cutest thing.
Loves the swing and slides at the park.
WILL NOT wear shoes or hats, has a complete come apart until he rips them all off.
Gets regular hair cuts, the clippers still scare him a little but we get through it.
Loves to be held and jump, he could do that forever.
Trying to figure out how to crawl. He goes from sitting up to all fours but can't figure out for the life of him how to move.

His ear tube surgery went really well and I feel like it's already helped him so much.  The worst part was the 10 hours before surgery when he couldn't eat. Thanks freaking heavens for his favorite shows that kept him somewhat occupied.  We went to Dr Park at Primary Children's and he did so good. From the time they took him from me and then told me it was done it was like 10 minutes, it was awesome. He ended up not having to get a IV cause he reacted really well to the basso that was good.  After surgery we had to put drops in his ears for 3 days and that was such a pain, cause if you know Brew you know if he doesn't want something he'll knock it right out of your hand ha so it was a struggle getting those drops in. His doc said he had lots of fluid and that he basically has probably had a lingering ear infection for months...so sad. Hopefully that's all behind us now!

  1. He is SO cute Ays! It's amazing how grown up they look after being compared to a newborn, they change so quickly! You're such a great momma!
